Education
“Here at the International Center, we value education and integration for our clients. To do this, we take hands-on action.”
Once resettlement begins, children are enrolled in school and adults are enrolled in ESL (English as a Second Language) classes. Until a client finds full-time employment, ESL classes are treated as a refugee client’s job. We encourage clients to continue ESL after employment in order to increase future employment opportunities.
Professionals from the Bowling Green area provide refugee clients with important information which enables clients to better integrate into the community.
Well-educated clients who practiced as professionals in their native countries are assisted by The International Center to achieve U.S certification. This enables them to practice their professions in our communities.
Aside from helping our clients thrive in ESL classes and other professional opportunities, we also assist eligible clients to enroll in GED programs.
